Challenge:

10th Magnitude, in partnership with Point B, was asked to help develop a cloud vision and roadmap for the City of Kirkland, WA as a continuation of a broad IT Assessment by Point B. We leveraged data from Movere, hands-on workshops, and our 10vū™ framework to develop a cloud vision and strategy.

Solution:

10vu – 10th MagnitudeWe used a 10vū™ assessment combined with technical workshops to create a datacenter structure in Azure, proving the ability to run applications and GIS workloads in the cloud.

Results:

The city was able to make the strategic cost and technical feasibility decisions needed to move critical systems to the cloud.

For systems staying on-premise, 10th Magnitude demonstrated the disaster recovery potential of Azure Site Recovery through a virtual datacenter. And technology components in the implementation were templated to support additional cloud-native deployments and given enhanced monitoring solutions.

Now, The City of Kirkland will maximize cloud value as they start migrations into Azure in late 2018.

"10th Magnitude’s excellent analytic and visualization processes helped us understand what needs to be done, and to feel confident that it can be done."
